Before you know it the portrait can be costing in the high hundreds and the fun and the excitement of the whole project can be lost. A more affordable option is to try and do some of it yourself! More and more people now have good quality digital cameras which are capable of producing some great pictures. So why not get a friend to come round to use your camera (or borrow a camera) and to take the portrait of your family. It could be in your living room, grouped on the sofa, or if the weather allows it have the family sat together on the grass in the sunshine.
Next comes the clever part… people tend to forget how much printing and framing of photographs can cost, so to keep the costs down why not get your chosen family picture printed onto a canvas. If you have had the picture taken with a digital camera then using an online site providing canvas printing you can directly upload your digital file, choose your canvas size and pay!! Hey presto, family portrait completed and you just have to wait for it to be delivered. Some of the online canvas printing services also offer digital editing so if there are one or two blemishes on the digital image you can get these removed too, the perfect picture of the perfect family!
With canvas printing being a more affordable option you could have multiple prints made which could be used as great gifts for parents and grandparents, they will certainly make a very meaningful gift for a loved one.
